What Does A PBA Do?

  • We provide workshops, training sessions, and resources to landowners, agencies, and volunteers on the principles and techniques of prescribed burning.

  • Facilitating partnerships among landowners, agencies, and fire professionals to coordinate and conduct prescribed burns safely and efficiently.

  • Promoting policies and practices that support the use of prescribed fire as a vital land management tool for enhancing ecosystem health and reducing wildfire risk.

  • Engaging with local communities to raise awareness about the benefits of prescribed burning and its role in maintaining resilient landscapes.

  • Why Prescribed Burning is important?

Prescribed burning is a proven method for reducing hazardous fuels, restoring native vegetation, and enhancing wildlife habitat. By introducing fire under controlled conditions, we can mimic natural processes and achieve multiple ecological benefits, including:

  • Improving Ecosystem Health

Promoting the growth of native plants, enhancing biodiversity, and restoring natural ecological processes.

  • Supporting Agriculture and Forestry

Maintaining healthy habitats, improving forage quality for livestock, and reducing invasive species.

  • Protecting Air Quality

Minimizing smoke impacts through strategic planning and timing of burns, improving overall air quality in our communities.
